During the launch of the Vuka Azania movement in Johannesburg, Boesak emphasized that this initiative aims to promote decolonization, land restoration, economic transformation, and constitutional reform. He clarified that Vuka Azania is intended to serve as a civic advocacy movement, distinct from a political party.
Boesak articulated that adopting the name Azania would reflect dignity and self-determination for the indigenous population of South Africa.
