Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana will present South Africa’s Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS) on November 12 at 2 p.m. in a hybrid session of the National Assembly, held at the Good Hope Chamber in Cape Town.

The MTBPS serves as a key component of the national budget process, outlining the government’s economic policy direction, revising growth forecasts, adjusting departmental allocations, and authorizing emergency expenditures when required.

Alongside the MTBPS, Minister Godongwana will also table several crucial financial bills, including the Adjustments Appropriation Bill, the Rates and Monetary Amounts and Amendment of Revenue Laws Bill, the Taxation Laws Amendment Bill, the Division of Revenue Amendment Bill, and the Tax Administration Laws Amendment Bill.

The statement is expected to set the tone for South Africa’s fiscal path ahead, balancing the need for economic growth with fiscal discipline amid global economic uncertainty.
