Benjamin Netanyahu to India: ‘Our Light Will Outshine Their Darkness’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a forceful message of hope to India, declaring “our light will outshine their darkness” in response to a deadly blast in Delhi. The attack on Monday killed eight and is being investigated as a terror incident.

In a statement to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Netanyahu expressed “deepest condolences” from himself, his wife Sara, and the people of Israel. “Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength,” he pledged.

Netanyahu praised the “unyielding spirit” of both nations, calling them “ancient civilisations united by shared values.” He delivered a now-famous line: “Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls.”

The explosion, which involved a Hyundai i20 near the Red Fort, is now the focus of India’s top anti-terror agency. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the probe from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The NIA has formed a “dedicated” team to investigate the “terrorist attack,” which sources say was “executed by a Jaish-e-Mohammad module.” The agency is coordinating with other security units to uncover the network.
