Elon Musk to Donate SpaceX Shares to American Children in Trump Program

U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed gratitude to Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, for his commitment to donate SpaceX shares to American children involved in the Trump Accounts program. Trump commended Musk’s contribution, highlighting its potential to empower children with a financial stake in the nation’s economic future.

Musk made the announcement via social media, stating his intention to allocate one SpaceX share to every child in America starting next year. This initiative marks the first of several planned contributions from Musk. The pledge aligns with a previous commitment from SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell and her husband, who have already promised shares to over two million children, primarily in Central Texas.

The Trump Accounts program, initiated on July 4, aims to assist families in building long-term savings for their children. Under this initiative, the government allocates $1,000 to eligible accounts for children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028. Additionally, parents and other contributors can add up to $5,000 annually, with the beneficiaries gaining access to the funds upon reaching 18 years of age.

Trump’s praise for Musk comes amidst a period of reconciliation between the two, following a previous public disagreement over the administration’s tax and spending policies. The dispute had been visible on social media, but recent developments suggest a mending of relations.
