Saudi officials reported a projectile landing near the Yemeni border, causing injuries to two individuals and inflicting damage on a mosque and multiple buildings. The incident also triggered air-raid sirens in the vicinity.
This aggressive maneuver follows a significant Houthi offensive along Yemen’s Red Sea coast, where the group has seized strategically vital areas. Among the captured territories is a key port city, crucially located near the Bab al-Mandab Strait, an essential artery for international maritime trade. In response, Yemeni government forces have initiated counteroffensives in the country’s southwestern regions.
